Was facing issues with Chat GPT Table Copy and Paste directly to Google Sheets. This is what I learnt.
I was trying to copy paste data from Chatgpt to to Google Sheets for a pair of Product names and generated product descriptions for a demo site.
Earlier I used to resolve this issue by asking the prompt to output the table data as a csv data. However due to my use of the free plan, chatgpt refused to do so as the table was quite large.
I tried copying and pasting directly like I do from perplexity, but it outputted the data as a mess in a single cell.
To overcome this issue, I found a great tool by Sam Ficek at Link to the Tool
Here Sam also describes the issue with ChatGPT tables why Copypasting to Excel. Turns out ChatGPT tables are outputted as pipe delimited tables unlike Perplexity which outputs its tables as HTML Tables.
Anyways I am documenting it here to help someone who may need it and check out the tool by Sam for an in-depth explanation.
