Restarted my journey in Coding

After a long time of trying to convince myself of my inability to code while being fascinated by it, i am restarting a journey I thought I had abandoned.

At 31, this is one of the most impractical yet soul nourishing thing I am trying to learn.

Lets see where this journey takes me.

Lets recap some of my coding day hikes I have had in the past.

At Grade X – Learned to code a bit in C++. I only remember a few concepts like prototype, classes and objects.

First year of college – Tried learning PHP, got stuck badly in Post & Get methods. Unable to ,comprehend, left it midway.

After my 3rd Job – Tried my hand at CS50. Had to leave it midway due to a major relocation. Life got in the way. Loved the course but its hour long lessons really stress out my ADHD brain Also started on the ODIN project from where I learned enough css and html to code this website in eleventy.

Right now: Started on my Python Journey by taking the Course: Automate the Boring Stuff with Python Programming by Al Sweigart on Youtube. This is by far the programming tutorial that I have ever used. The focus on learning huge blocks of concepts under 10 minutes with practical examples is a game changer for my ADHD brain. Lets see how far it takes me. In the search for such programming lessons,I came across MIT’s The Missing Semester of Your CS Education on Hacker News. The Missing Semester of Your CS Education Its First lesson cleared a lot of concepts about working in the shell. I just cant wait to blast through the rest.

Hopefully I will have enough drive to power this through.
